The paper has made a modest attempt to analyse the performance of Five
Commercial Banks in India, using CAMEL approach. Based on the various
ratios under CAMEL parameter, it is observed that Central bank of India
has the highest capital ratios and net performing assets, highest
management ratios are maintained by the Central Bank of India, Punjab
National Bank has got the highest earnings capacity whereas Bank of Baroda has maintained the highest liquidity position.
